1. LA BARCELONETA:

The Barceloneta beach is, together with Sant Sebastià –the following beach on our list- one of the most long-standing and largest beaches by the Barcelona shore.
Located close to the city center, it is one of the most visited beaches, as it is the one easier to access with public transport. If that weren’t enough, the Barceloneta also counts on great sports and leisure facilities, with various volleyball pitches, children playgrounds, table tennis, fitness area and “beach-library” service.

Nova Icària beach is one of the quietest beaches in town and it is ideal if you are travelling to Barcelona with kids. Located next to the Olympic Port, you can reach it just taking a nice walk along the shore or getting the bus or metro.
At Nova Icària you will also find plenty of sports facilities: volleyball, playground and table tennis. There is also an area designed for disabled people, where some volunteers assist those with reduced mobility for having a bath in the sea.

What should you know about Dockers?
With a really nice appearance and a great service at reasonable price, Dockers offers a large menu with: pizzas, nachos, burgers, prawns and seafood, pasta, rice, gazpacho (cold vegetable soup) and desserts further than calippos or magnums. As an added value, they also have quite interesting deals. Not to be missed!

4. LLEVANT BEACH:

The Llevant (or Levante) beach is one of the most peaceful ones in Barcelona and also one of the newest, as it was remodeled in 2006. It is located nect to Nova Mar Bella beach, a bit further from the city center, which makes it the best choice if you are looking for relax, peace and better-quality sea water –as you can see on the picture-. There, you will find deck chairs service, lockers, showers and public toilets.

5. BOGATELL BEACH:

Bogatell beach is usually visited by people who are a bit older that the nearby beaches Nova Icària and Mar Bella. It is not as quiet as Llevant beach, nor as noisy as Barceloneta.
Bogatell beach was renovated while recovering the sea façade of the city in the 90s due to the Olympics of Barcelona’92. It was one of the first beaches recovered. It has a vast extension and is pretty close to Poble Nou district, which makes it quite peaceful with not just tourists visiting. There are usually people running along the promenade, which is plenty of places to have a snack. Which one should we recommend? Xiringuito Escribà! One of the best beach bars in Barcelona, with no doubt!
What should you know about Chiringuito Escribà?
They offer all kinds of rice, apart from season seafood and top appetizers, from which the Iberic ham ‘airbags‘ stand out. It is advisable to let some free space in your stomach, as the meal must definitely end with some of the pastries– the Escribà family is popular pastry chefs in Barcelona- Just a must-visit!
